Cirque Du Soleil Is Looking For Male Contemporary Dancer With Acrobatic Abilities To Play In Its Big Top Touring Show Kooza

Duration of contract: 1-2 years.

Role Description: The Trickster is one of the lead characters in this production.  He is the devilish Master of Ceremonies, with the ability to transform himself in a snap! It is the charismatic Trickster who pulls all the strings – a true Jack-in-the-Box, this fluid, malicious, and explosive character knows how to use his energy to capture the attention of the audience.

Character traits:

  • Male;
  • Any ethnicity;
  • Between 20 and 40 years old;
  • 5’7” to 5’10” tall (170-178 cm);
  • Powerful and grounded, a magical Master of Ceremonies.

Requirements:

  • Professional training in classical & contemporary dance styles;
  • Ability to perform some floor acrobatics;
  • Very good acting and improvisational skills;
  • Excellent stage presence;
  • Great agility, mobility, and precision;
  • Must have a valid passport.

Submissions instructions
You meet the requirements, please submit your application, including:

  1. Your CV/resumé (including a physical description of yourself listing any special attributes which you believe would be valuable for Cirque);
  2. Two photos: one headshot and one full body shot;

  4. A 30-45 second solo improvisation or choreographic excerpt that shows technique and a couple acrobatic passes.

Your videos do not have to be professional; simple homemade videos are fine.

Deadline for submissions: Thursday July 21, 2016.

  • ONLY complete profiles (including a resumé/CV, photos and demo videos) will be evaluated by a Talent Scout from the Casting team.  Only selected candidates will be contacted.
