Lamento is Looking for Female Performers for a Piece for 3 Dancers/Circus Girls & a Live Musician.

Lamento is looking for female performers for its 2021 project “TOUT CE FRACAS”, a piece for 3 dancers/circus girls and a live musician. Priority will be assigned to applicants with a physical handicap and/or who are interested in research that deals with physical impediments.

The LAMENTO company, founded in 2014 by Sylvère Lamotte and based in Le Mans, France, draws its vocabulary from contact improvisation dance. The company’s work revolves around the action and sensitivity of the body and the relationship of this to different health institutions. Its Culture & Health programs involve both caregivers and residents. Over the past four years, Sylvère Lamotte has sought to creatively explore the question of physical handicaps, tirelessly refining his signature quartet performances.

Required profile:
– Contemporary dancers and /or circus girls whose skill development hasn’t been based on the usage of gymnastic apparatuses, and who possess an excellent technical level as well as confirmed experience with circus stage composition.
– A comfort with contact improvisation.
– A pronounced interest in research.
– Someone who is available for all rehearsals and performances.
