– Two days of performing at public spaces around London during Fashion Week, 17th & 18th February. We call it a performative catwalk.
– The weekend will end with an appearance in a performance on Sunday evening 18th February at the Yard Theatre in Hackney Wick.Versatile dancers and open to approaches of improvising / devising / live art/modelling. You will need to be comfortable with wearing an unusual costume, Make-up & hair and performing at unusual places.
At the Yard, Livia Rita & band will perform their forthcoming debut album live. An additional visual layer & identity is created by costumes and their usual gang of dancers with whom they have worked with previously, and you would intrude that stage during a few songs with the performative catwalk; turning the concert into a 4D experience of stark emotions and imagery.
Livia Rita has researched & developed these theatrical ways of performing live music at the Barbican, Rich Mix, Hackney Showroom, Ugly Duck and the Yard Theatre; mentored by Lea Anderson and Lindsay Kemp. There will be more performances and music video shoots following; we are looking forward to meeting a variety of performers, with future collaborations in mind.
Rehearsal dates: the evening of 9th February, all day incl. evening on 10th & 11th, evening on 12th & 13th February, plus a fitting (flexible)
We enjoy the feel and vibe of Kate Bush, Bjork, The Knife… modern dance, absurdism, minimalism, 80s Punk, pop references…
