Holstebro Dance Company is Seeking Dance Artists Who Identify as Women
Holstebro Dance Company is seeking professional dance artists who identify as women (using the pronouns she/her and/or they/them) to join the company for the season of 2023-2024.
Contract periods:
8th of August – 7th of October 2023 & 27th of November 2023 – 31st of March 2024
Contracts includes salary in accordance with union regulation as well as pension, holiday pay, accommodation assistance and coverage of transportation at start and end of employment periods.
The audition will be held in Holstebro Denmark on the 5th and 6th of May 2023. The audition is by invitation only.
IMPORTANT
For non-European based dance artists who are invited to the audition, the company can provide financial travel assistance. Invitations will include more information about this.
The company will provide accommodation in Holstebro for the 2 nights of 4th to the 5th and 5th to the 6th of May 2023 for all dance artists attending the audition.
All attending dance artists will partake in both days of the audition.
Costs to participate in audition is FREE.
ABOUT the company
With a base in Holstebro, Denmark, Holstebro Dance Company puts the thoughts and feelings of today into motion. Through dance, we create moving and inspiring choreographic experiences and dance performances. The company aims to be relevant to our times in both choice of theme, approach, and practice.
The company is the third largest in Denmark and only one located outside the greater Copenhagen region. The company primarily consists of professional dance artists in the beginning of their careers.
The company tours with a variety of performances, consisting of small, large, youth, adult, new creation, and repertoire pieces etc., both nationally and internationally. Under the artistic direction of Marie Brolin-Tani and David Cornelius Price, the company has, since its birth in 2013, gained great momentum and success and is continuously expanding.
Previous and current choreographers who have worked with the company include Dolly Sfeir, Gunilla Lind, Tim Rushton, Jason Mabana, Stephanie Thomasen, Ben Wright, Alessandro Sousa Pereira, Jung in Lee, Mari Carasco, Jacob Stage and Edhem Jesenkovic and Thomas Bentin.
In the coming season the company will among other be restaging and touring the piece “My Quiet Home”, as well as creating the new theater-dance-hybrid piece “Sleeping Beauties” in collaboration with Aarhus Theater. Both productions include an all women-cast.

1) CV with a portrait picture (as PDF-file). This must include full name, preferred pro-nouns, age, nationality, current location of residency, education, relevant work experience, your contact information and contact information to referees (e.g., former employers and/or teachers)
2) 1 direct streaming link to 1 film, open with no password and of maximum 6 minutes including all three film materials as described below:
i) An Introduction of yourself, stating your name and a short motivation statement in working with the company. This should be a max of 1 minute. If you prefer, your motivation statement can be sent as a text, see below.
ii) Film material of you performing choreographic sequences from the performance BJÖRK (by Dolly Sfeir and co-choreographed with Marija Burceva), followed by a task-based improvisation. This should be a max of 3 minutes. See material, task, and guidance video here: https://vimeo.com/798397807
