Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company is Looking for Dancers

The Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, under the Artistic Direction of Ioannis Mandafounis is looking for passionate improvisers to join the ensemble from August 2026. We are seeking dancers from a wide range of backgrounds, whilst open to train daily in ballet, and with a substantial experience as performers and creators. We commit to be inclusive of all gender identities and expressions.

At DFDC you will create new works and dance in existing pieces by Ioannis Mandafounis as well as by guest choreographers such as William Forsythe, Thomas Hauert, Rosalind Crisp, Emanuel Gat, Cyril Baldy, Katerina Andreou, and Ayelen Parolin. You will rehearse, perform and tour extensively, encountering many different audiences, in all sorts of contexts. Therefore endurance, curiosity and a desire to break new grounds are necessary.

Requirements:

What to expect as a member of DFDC:

– Perform in the 3 yearly program = a minimum of 48 shows between Dresden and Frankfurt
– Tour internationally (in addition to the 48 shows in Frankfurt and Dresden)
– Participate in the company’s outreach and education program (workshops, outdoors performances, post-show talks with the audience, etc.)
