Actors, performers, movers, acrobats e circus artists are selected for SPECIFIC physical performer 2026 special project directed by Loris Petrillo SPECIFIC/NotAcademy, School of Art recognised by Lazio Region organized with Anonima Teatri, in collaboration with Twain Centro di Produzione Danza.
Auditions are online.
Scholarships up to 500€.
Applications are open until the expected number of participants is reached.
The project:
The project lasts 3 months, from September to December 2026, and is aimed at actors, movers, acrobats, and circus artists aged 18 and over who want to develop a clear and structured physical language through solid physical and performative training and gain the tools to approach multidisciplinary professional projects.
The intensive program includes movement disciplines and physical practices such as physical theatre, vocal training, contemporary dance, elements of acrobatics, dramaturgical work, improvisation, and rhythm, which allow physical performers to develop coordination, stamina, and movement quality, while providing practical tools to support and sustain action on stage through the body.
A performance is scheduled at the end of the path.
The project takes place in Tuscania (VT), Italy, a vibrant hub for performing arts thanks to the numerous activities of the Twain Production Center directed by Loredana Parrella, and Anonima Teatri led by Yoris Petrillo and Aleksandros Memetaj, as well as Loris Petrillo’s company and training projects. Festivals, residencies, guest performances, rehearsals, and previews of affiliated companies create a vibrant setting that participants in SPECIFIC physical performer engage with, enriched by an international environment thanks to the presence of the SPECIFIC dancers, coming from all over the world each year to take part in the three-year SPECIFIC training centre for contemporary dancers.

• Actors looking to make the body central to their stage work, developing a strong physical presence capable of supporting complex actions and sequences.
• Acrobats and circus artists seeking to bring their physical skills into a more structured stage context, beyond individual tricks or isolated abilities.
• Movers and performers aiming to strengthen their physical and performative foundations and use movement as an expressive language.
• Artists wanting to reinforce their physical work before moving on to the next stage of their careers.

Opportunity
At the end of the program, the Artistic Direction of Twain Centro Produzione Danza will award short creative residencies to selected participants, (period will be agreed upon during the selection process) for the development of personal projects, after selection and evaluation of the project proposal.
Each residency will conclude with a public sharing and an exchange with the local community and performing arts professionals.
