Autin Dance Theatre (UK) is Looking for Versatile Movement Performers for Future Programme of Work.
Autin Dance Theatre are seeking professional performers to express their interests in joining the company in order to expand our existing pool of freelance artists for the following upcoming projects in 2021 and beyond:
– A Posi+ive Life
– Out of the Deep Blue
– Dystopia
– AutinDT Education Programme
We are looking for highly creative and strong individual performers in contemporary dance, circus, physical theatre, spoken word, martial arts and/or puppetry interested in collaborating with us on our performance projects.
You must be a versatile movement performer and comfortable with character work and text. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals from diverse backgrounds, especially from Black, South Asian and Ethnically Diverse and under-represented communities that are based in Birmingham/West Midlands to join the Company for R&D, rehearsals, live performances and the delivery of creative outreach workshops in formal education settings and the community.
Applicants should demonstrate at least 3 years of professional experience, strong dance theatre technique, partner work, improvisational and devising skills. Team players with a sense of humour welcome!

About our projects:
A Posi+ive Life is an accessible, immersive and interactive theatre experience led by six contemporary characters featuring dance, physical theatre, spoken word and BSL interpretation for teenagers and young adults.
Rehearsals in January 2021 + Touring in Spring/Summer 2021 (5 venues, 15 live performances between February and June 2021)
Out of the Deep Blue is a large-scale performance, featuring 1 female contemporary dancer and a 4-metre tall sea giant puppet operated by 5 puppeteers. This outdoor spectacle is designed specifically for family and festival audiences and is inspired by the themes of the climate emergency and the biodiversity crisis.
Rehearsals in Spring 2021 (4 weeks + 1 production week) + Touring UK outdoor arts festivals in Summer 2021 (April to September 2021)
Dystopia is a highly acclaimed and electrifying dance theatre duet for the outdoors and unusual spaces that explores the themes of our human need for connection and belonging, in opposition with our modern anxieties based on fear and violence.
Rehearsals in April 2021 + Touring UK outdoor arts festivals in Summer 2021 (May to August 2021)

When: The online audition and interview process will take place during the week commencing the 14th of December 2020.
