Ballet Choreographers Contest 2020: Open Call for the 3rd Edition
The Opéra National de Bordeaux and the CCN Malandain Ballet Biarritz, members of the Greater South West Centre for Choreographic Cooperation and the CCN / Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin, with the support of the French Ministry of Culture, present the third edition of the Emerging Ballet Choreographers Contest.
This competition will award:
– 2 creation residencies in these 2 ballet companies: Ballet de l’Opéra National de Bordeaux and CCN/Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin. The pieces created during the residencies will be presented to the public.
– Biarritz Prize: €15.000
– Audience’s Award / Fondation de la Danse: €3.000
– Critic’s Award: €3.000
Like in the first editions, the members of the jury will be eminent academic dance figures. The contest will take place over three main stages:

2) Selection of the 6 finalists by the directors of the Opéra National de Bordeaux, the CCN / Ballet de l’Opéra national du Rhin and the CCN Malandain Ballet Biarritz on 15 January 2020
3) Finale: the public finale will take place on 31 May 2020 in the Gare du Midi, Biarritz. The travel and accommodation costs will be taken in charge by the organizer (up to a certain amount stipulated in the rules).
