Ballet Opéra Grand Avignon is Looking for a Male Dancer

The Ballet of the Opéra Grand Avignon is composed of 12 dancers, employed full-time, all year round. They perform at the Opéra and on tour, participating in dance shows, opera and ballet performances, outreach and education events. The Ballet is a classical company but is opening to different styles, from neoclassical to contemporary dance. Guest teachers are regularly invited to propose different and innovative techniques (classical, contemporary, gaga, counter technique, …).
After three seasons under Emilio Calcagno’s direction (2021-24), the Ballet will be led by its new Director, Martin Harriague, who aims at discovering new talents and developing a physical, virtuoso and inventive language, engaged with today’s social challenges.

The 2024/25 season includes Martin Harriague’s new production and a new creation by Stephen Shropshire, Rena Butler et Mike Tyus, as well as show on tour from the Ballet’s recent repertoire (Storm and D’un matin de printemps by Emilio Calcagno; L’Oiseau de Feu by Edouard Hue; Boléro by Hervé Koubi).
