About Hoist + Sulk
Responding to the historic Gantries in Long Island City, the massive structure was once used as means to hoist, load and unload rail cars along the river. We devise metaphors from the remnants of this architecture, drawing parallels to the human skeleton. The body becomes a power house hoisting mechanism for transportation, strength, desire, mechanics, and carrying change.
