ClancyWorks is Seeking Professional Dancers and/or Teaching Artists for 2018/2019
Join us for an audition to be a part of DC-based ClancyWorks Dance Company. Now in our 18th season, ClancyWorks is seeking professional dancers and/or teaching artists for 2018/2019.
The Washington Post has described Dr. Adrienne Clancy as a “wizard of invention,” and her choreography as “a tour de force of unpredictable partnering.” With a heavy focus on contemporary dance & partnering technique, auditions will include ClancyWorks’ repertory material and movement exercises essential to our company’s ongoing & future creative projects, aesthetic, etc.
The company’s outstanding skill lies in its ability to combine physically demanding, powerful movement with the sensitive portrayal of cultural nuances and personal emotions. So, we are looking for artists who understand that dance is about more than just technique! The craft comes in our ability to “shift perceptions through performance” as we express ourselves through movement. And, we present dynamic partnering work that reflects our powerful aesthetic and social vision, to form trust within a framework of diversity & inclusion.
Dancers should have a strong background in contemporary/modern dance with an interest in partnering and exploring ideas analytically, as well as physically, the ability to improvise is also important, and a diverse dance background of multiple forms is preferred.
