Gibney Dance Company seeks dancers for invited auditions to be scheduled July 17 – August 5, 2017. Full-time contract to begin September 2017.
Gibney Dance Company’s full-time Artistic Associates embrace a broad spectrum of activities—in the studio, on stage, within our organization, and throughout the community. Our Artistic Associates:
-Perform the work of Artistic Director Gina Gibney and renowned guest choreographers.
-Facilitate hundreds of movement workshops each year for survivors of intimate partner violence.
-Offer healthy relationship assemblies to high school students throughout the city through our Hands are for Holding program.
-Develop programming addressing pressing issues in the dance field, such as cultivating long-term diversity, connecting artists around the globe, and empowering dancers with financial literacy training.
Gibney Dance prioritizes our resident company by offering 52-week contracts, health insurance, and paid vacation to all of our Artistic Associates.
This year the Company will perform a premiere by Gina Gibney titled Drafting Foresight along with selections of past repertory. Additionally, we are in talks with Shannon Gillen and Bryan Arias to create new works for the Company in the 2017-18 season.
