HUMUS is an 8 MONTHS
PROFESSIONAL DANCE PROGRAM through CONTEMPORARY TOOLS

HUMUS is a professional program of research on dance as a refined relational technology that starting from body movement arrives at dramaturgy understood as a dynamic architecture of multidimensional relationships. HUMUS offers a program focused on deepening a few precise tools that share principles and visions about the body in movement. It promotes a balance between the time of practice and the time of digestion and transformation, facilitating a research process that includes emptiness, silence and waiting between; in this space we see the emergence of new similarities and differences. Professional and human growth. HUMUS is a space for cultural and artistic activism that offers tools and a fertile ground to put them into practice through creation, supported by a mentorship process.

HUMUS’ ARCHITECTURE
Humus has a pedagogical arc developed over 8 months. The first three months are dedicated to the study of tools related to movement with Axis Syllabus and Play-Fight. The second term introduces the study of composition research with the Geist Pulse, and real-time composition workshops. The last two months are dedicated to the creation and consolidation of tools towards more sophisticated dynamics.

EACH MONTH IS DIVIDED INTO
• 3 weeks of training
from Monday to Friday 09.30-15.00 with internal teachers: Axis Syllabus, Play Fight, Geist Pulse.
• 1 week Emptiness Atelier
A space to cultivate, question, decompose and recompose.
A space for digestion, integration and re-elaboration of information and experiences.
A space for what is there, to support the processing rather than the static accumulation of information, to realize how the new awareness moves and how they interact with the schemes and structures of reference already present. In this week self-managed by the group, as teaching staff we will be available as mentors of individual and / or collective processes, both in a direction of revision and in-depth analysis and of composition.

EVERY MONTH IT INTEGRATES 1 WORKSHOP or 1 MONOGRAPH
6 workshops in total, during the 8 months. The workshops take place at the end of the third week of training, before the week of Emptiness Atelier.
• 4 Axis Syllabus workshops with F. Faust, F. Pedullà, B. Mihci, N. Vandini
1 Play Fight workshop with Bruno Caverna
1 real-time composition workshop with Claudia Dias
• 2 monographs during the 8 months. Integrative focus on sound and voice, conducted by external teachers.

Listening and sound theory – with Enrico Malatesta

* The 2 monographs and the workshop with Claudia Dias end with a public opening involving the class of students.
