Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance – Auditions

The Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance in Munich is one of the most internationally recognised academies for contemporary dance in Europe and trains contemporary dancers and dance teachers with excellent technical quality and an individual profile.
We place a great emphasis on the personal development and artistic expression of our students.

Iwanson International offers different training formats:

The full-time training with the aim of obtaining a diploma in stage performance combines demanding dance training with regular public stage practice.

The ‘Basic Year’ can serve as a preparatory year to prepare for professional stage dance training, but also as a constant, intensive training for non-professionals at a high level.

The post-graduate programme ‘The Nimble Project’ is a six-month postgraduate programme, making it suitable to transition from dance studies to a professional career.

The Iwanson Pedagogy Basic Certificate exam can be taken at the end of various modules of pedagogical workshops.

The Iwanson curriculum includes daily technical training in contemporary dance forms and classical ballet. In addition, our students will train in floor technique, partnering, contact, improvisation, performance training, Iwanson technique, jazz dance, theory, somatic training, and much more!

From their second year onwards, students attend monthly classes taught by additional international instructors. Together, these classes provide a rigorous and well-rounded dance education for our students.

Other information:

Classes are held from Monday to Friday between 8.30 am and 4 pm the latest. Teaching time averages 30 hours per week

Age: 16 and up.

School start: 1st year, September 2024.
