La Biennale di Venezia is Looking for 7 Professional Dancers Both Male and Female
La Biennale di Venezia is looking for 7 professional dancers both male and female, with significant experience and 5 years of proven professional activity.
The Artistic Director of the Biennale’s Dance Department, Marie Chouinard, will select, at her complete discretion, the dancers who respond to the goals of her 2018 artistic project.
The selection is open to applicants from all over the world.
The dancers will work with 3 new choreographers selected for the Biennale College – Dance with the purpose of creating 3 original choreographies lasting 20 minutes each, to be performed in public during a single event to be held as part of the 12th International Festival of Contemporary Dance of the Biennale di Venezia.
The dancers must have an open mind, a generous approach to the creative process and to experimentation, and be willing to work intensively.
The project will be held in Venice and will last 6 weeks from May 21st to July 1st 2018.
Work schedule: six (6) hours a day for five days a week.
Job contract with adequate salary.
Travel and lodgings shall be paid for by the Biennale di Venezia.
PROCEDURE FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE SELECTION OF PROFESSIONAL DANCERS
You must first register on the Biennale website in the “Working with us” section, and submit the following documentation:
1. Curriculum Vitae (specifying nationality) (max. 1000 characters) and two photographs (half bust and full figure)
2. Letter of motivation
3. Two letters of reference
4. A video (with a link for viewing): the only video considered valid for the selection will be the video of an improvised “solo” that documents the dancer’s technical and expressive capacities (no more than 2 minutes long).
