Luke Brown Dance is looking for 3 performers for the research and development of a new outdoor, puppet based project, Walk of the Dandelion. We would love to hear from performers who have experience working with puppets, puppeteering and performing in the outdoor sector as the main focus of Walk of the Dandelion centres around a large scale puppet named Daniel.
WALK OF THE DANDELION WILL INCLUDE:
puppeteering Daniel
movement exploration of Daniel and performers
community walks and pop up appearances
visits to schools and care homes
interaction with the general public
participation in handmade dandelion crafting workshops
WE ARE LOOKING FOR PERFORMERS WITH EXPERIENCE WITH:
contemporary dance (desirable but not essential)
puppet and puppeteering experience (desirable but not essential)
contact work / partnering skills
outdoor performance experience
devising, improvising and collaboration
experience of working with or interacting with diverse groups of people in different settings, showing a sensitivity to different needs
APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR:
6 – 11 September research week 1
13 – 17 September research week 2
20 – 26 September research week 3
FEES
Weekly fee £550 (travel and accommodation will be covered where necessary).
Audition: Saturday 7th August, 10:00 – 17:00 BST
Where: The Creation Space, The Point, Eastleigh, Hampshire, SO50 9DE, Nearest train station, Eastleigh
