MATCH International Contemporary Dance Workshop
After 9 years as artistic director of Flounce Up international contemporary dance workshop, Loris Petrillo celebrates its 10th year by founding MATCH International Contemporary Dance Workshop, open to professional and new professional dancers which want to improve their knowledge of contemporary dance.
MATCH arises with the prerogative and the need to be a high-quality centre for the dancers, increasingly prepared and competitive on the international scene, which have attended the workshop over the years, and for those who will take part in this amazing opportunity for the first time.
To meet this need, there will be two choreographers teaching the workshop together with Loris Petrillo and it will run for 6 days instead of 5.
The presence of several choreographers allows participants, who currently come from Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, France, USA, Chile, Spain, Martinique and Madagascar, to experiment and develop new and different choreographic and creative methodologies, and receive through the direct comparison with the guest choreographers useful practical and theoretical tools for achieving a larger knowledge in work-related matters.
In the last years, Loris Petrillo collaborated with personalities like Anton Lachky (Slovakia), dancer and co-founder of Les Slovaks Dance Collective and choreographer and Director of the Anton Lachky Company; Edivaldo Ernesto (Mozambico), assistant and dancer for David Zambrano and dancer for Sasha Waltz; Lali Ayguade Farro (Spain), dancer in Akram Khan Company, Director of Laly Ayguade Company, dancer for Hofesh Shechter, Enclave Dance Company.
After their exciting presence, the search for dancers-choreographers of great impact and personality among the leading figures from the best scene of the international contemporary dance continues. For its first edition, MATCH calls a great international artist: Peter Jasko, assistant and dancer for David Zambrano, dancer for Company Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and dancer and co-founder of Les Slovaks Dance Collective.
Lali Ayguade Farro, already present in the last edition of Flounce Up, completes the framework of guest dancers-choreographers of MATCH. Her renewed presence will offer participants a deeper insight into her fascinating and appreciated work.
