Morvell Dance is Looking for 3 Female Dancers and 1 Female Apprentice
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for 3 talented female-identifying dancers, along with 1 exceptional female-identifying apprentice dancer, to take part in the R&D phase of our upcoming production, “The Difference a Year Makes” (TDAYM). Morvell Dance is seeking to hire new dancers outside of their current network.
If you have graduated in 2023 you should apply for the Apprentice role.
TDAYM is poised to be an exciting work that combines dance & digital artistry to delve into the poignant narratives of diverse women from all generations who have undergone a transformation in their lives. Their stories encompass pivotal themes such as societal class dynamics, the evolving cost of living, and the shifting political landscape both within the UK and beyond. Selected performers will embody the roles of these remarkable women, communicating their words verbatim and embracing the opportunity to explore both creative and physical expressions.
Requirements:
What qualities are we seeking? Here are the key criteria:
**Skilful Artistry** A strong foundation in contemporary and very strong partnership skills
**Emotional Resonance** The ability to deeply connect with and embody the authentic emotions of the characters.
**Verbal Proficiency** Comfort with delivering authentic dialogue verbatim, bringing the characters to life.
**Team players** We like to work with people who are kind, caring, open and understanding
We are particularly interested in dancers with backgrounds that are underrepresented such as those from African, Asian or ethnically diverse, those from low socio-economic backgrounds.
We can only accept applications from dancers who reside in the UK and have a visa to work in the UK

How to Apply:
Please send a 1 minute video of you dancing. This video needs to be clearly of you. If it is a film of a performance of you as part of a company it needs to be obvious that we are watching you. Please don’t send films longer than a minute.
Please send a covering email/ letter explaining why you want to work with us – what will you bring to Morvell Dance and why you think you can help us with our R&D. Maximum of 300 words. We expect you to know our work so please make sure you’ve done your research!

We will lead a relaxed and friendly experience day but please note there will be cuts during the day due to the capacity of the space.
Deadline for applications:
11th September 2023. We will aim to let everyone know the outcome of their application by Saturday 23rd September.
