OPEN CALL LOOKING FOR PERFORMERS FOR GRADUATION PIECES
We are three students from FHK in our 4th year of the bachelor of choreography and for our graduation piece we are looking for interns and professional performers (max 3 years graduated or performance experience) based in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Rehearsal period: April, May 2023 in the Netherlands
Performance days: 2nd and 3rd of June 2022, Theater De Nieuwe Vorst, Tilburg, Netherlands
Each choreographer has written down what type of dancer they are looking for and what they will work on. You can choose to apply for a specific choreographer, multiple or all of them: Anna Tafel:
I am a 23 year old choreographer and for my end performance I am searching for a waacker who is comfortable to think outside the box and dares to approach their movement language within this style in a deconstructive way.
Influences from other styles are welcomed.
We are going to work in co-creation and the piece is going to be performed together with me as a duo. I am looking forward to work collaboratively and in an open environment of communication, focusing on improvisation and task related research.
Twan van Diest
I am a 24 year old male choreographer who is interested in narratives about individual struggle. My approach consists in aiming to embody the emotions physically.
I am looking for a dancer (f/m/x) who is expressionistc, theatrical and driven. My dancer should be able to create their own movements under specific, guided assignments. I am not looking for technical excellence per se, but sufficiency in contemporary dance is necessary. Preferably, there is also a little experience in breaking/acrobatics. Knowledge/interest about Butoh and Tanztheater is very welcome. Looking for 1-2 dancers. I will possibly dance too.
Loes Verstraten
I am a 22 year old female choreographer and I am looking for someone who is open minded, communicative, is familiar with partnering and preferable has some sort of affinity with the topic. The piece will be a duet together with me, which will be in a co-creation. I like to be physical and my research starts from the body. In the process we will research on representing the conscious and subconscious and the relationship between them, where connecting with this trough dreams will be one of the aspects. The style will be contemporary based.
