ProArteDanza, a Toronto-based contemporary dance company was co-founded in 2004 by renowned choreographer Roberto Campanella (an established dancer and former soloist with the National Ballet of Canada) and, Joanna Ivey (also a former National Ballet of Canada dancer), and independent modern dancer Robert Glumbek.
From its very first performance, ProArteDanza was enlivened by the artistry of versatile dancers and choreographers along with high production values. It delivered then and continues to deliver on its guiding mantra: “Passion in Performance”. ProArteDanza is a unique, visionary dance company, created to showcase the best choreographers and dancers in Ontario and Canada from both ballet and contemporary dance backgrounds.

Through its unique fusion of diverse disciplines, ProArteDanza offers established dancers the opportunity to continue to share their artistry and inspire younger artists by providing a platform that crosses the boundaries of technical skill and artistic expression. Mixing generations, disciplines and artistic visions allows the company to build a new, cohesive and inclusive world for many dancers, and to develop audiences for both dance realms.
