Punchdrunk Enrichment are casting two female roles for an upcoming immersive family production for 5 – 11 year olds in London. The production has not been announced and further information will be available at the point of audition. Please see key dates and character descriptions below.
KEY DATES
Rehearsals: 30th April – 12th May and 28th May – 1st June
Production: 2nd June – 13th July 2018
CHARACTERS
Character 1, ‘Nannie’
Female
Playing age 60 – 75
Nannie is a working class Londoner who has lived for many years in her cosy flat in Tottenham, surrounded by her miniature creations. Each one of them tells a story or holds a memory for Nannie, of the times she’s used what little she has to take her daughter Bella on adventures, but now it’s time for an adventure of her own.
Character 2, ‘Bella’
Female
Playing age 30 – 45
Bella has loved and looked up to her Mum her whole life, she is strong willed and matter of fact but adores the magic of her mother’s imagination. In recent years Nannie’s confusion between imagination and reality has increased, and Bella is faced with the tough decision to move Nannie into assisted living. Person specification for both roles:
● Enthusiasm and interest performing in interactive and immersive productions.
● Experience performing for young people.
Further Information
It is essential that applicants are available for the key dates and the full engagement period.
The production will be a maximum of 60 minutes in length and for small audiences at a time. It will run 6 days per week with performers delivering 2 – 3 shows per day.
Punchdrunk engages performer/facilitators on ITC performer contracts, on a project by project basis.
Rates of pay exceed the ITC minimum weekly salary.
