The DASH Ensemble Summer Intensive
The DASH Ensemble’s week-long summer intensive is geared toward advanced students and emerging professionals looking to immerse themselves in a unique movement language and choreographic process. The intensive is centered on Dolbashian’s dedication to helping dancers overcome their personal and creative obstacles and strengthen their artistic autonomy. All dancers will also be involved in the development of a brand new work by Gregory Dolbashian, to be performed outdoors at the Red Hook Fest on a program with a performance by The DASH Ensemble!
The intensive will give participants a comprehensive understanding of the tools and processes The DASH Ensemble uses in their work:
-Contemporary technique and floorwork
-Improvisation
-Partnering
Participants will receive a technique class focusing on one of these skills each day, as well as a repertory class and a rehearsal for the new work. Throughout the intensive, Dolbashian will help hone and develop the clarity, intent, and physical complexity that characterize The DASH’s work. Dolbashian will also be leading discussions on “Freelancing as a Life Skill” throughout the week.
Upon submitting your application you will receive a confirmation of receipt informing you that we are reviewing your materials. You should expect to hear back from us regarding your acceptance before the end of that calendar month.
Deadline for application: All applications must be received by May 8th for our June 2017 intensive.
