The Groundbreakers Modern Dance is Looking for Professional Dancers
This year, The Groundbreakers Modern Dance team will present two productions. The first is an international collaboration with the Taiwanese Chang Dance Theater titled “Chinese Dinner,” a work focused on the themes of global environment and pollution. The second is a dance piece titled “Opium Flower,” reflecting on the experiences and sentiments of Chinese women in modern Dutch society.
Requirements:
We are therefore seeking two dancers: one male dancer and one female dancer with Asian features.
The collaboration period for the male dancer will be from June to July this year in Taiwan.
The collaboration period for the female dancer will be from September to December 2025.
This production will exclusively involve work and rehearsals in theaters in the Netherlands.
• Male Contemporary Dancer:
• No restrictions on nationality or skin color.
• Age: 25 to 45 years old.
• Must be a dancer based in the Netherlands or neighboring countries.
• Height: 173 cm to 190 cm.
• Should have a strong personal identity, including distinctive appearance, dance performance, and skills.
• Experience in Chinese martial arts, such as Shaolin Kung Fu or Tai Chi, is a plus.
• Asian Female Contemporary Dancer:
• Black hair.
• Fluent in both Chinese and English.
• Height: 165 cm to 180 cm.
• Skilled in Chinese dance styles.
Where:
After we have reviewed and shortlisted candidates via email, we will notify selected dancers of the exact location and time of the live audition by email. Typically, our auditions take place in Heiloo, a city in North Holland.
