The Nationale Operette is Looking for Dancers for an Internship with DansBlok

The Nationale Operette is an operette company that works both for a young and an adult audience. We have a great interest in movement/dance next to and together with music and have worked with dancers from different backgrounds several times. For the 2022/2023 winter production ‘Wenen*New York*Parijs’ De Nationale Operette will collaborate with dance collective DansBlok.

DansBlok is a contemporary dance collective based in Leiden at the production house of Theater Ins Blau. We create dance performances as well as dance films and are inspired by time related topics that interest ourselves and our generation. Dancer and choreographer Tessa Wouters from the artistic team of DansBlok will be choreographing for ‘Wenen*New York*Parijs’. The choreography will be created on several pieces with a total of about 20 minutes. Some ultimate classics are part of the composition like Blumenwalzer, March of the Toys and Can Can. They will be given a modern twist through the choreography.

The tour will consist of 8 performances across The Netherlands end of December 2022 and beginning of January 2023. Rehearsals will take place in end of November/beginning of December.

REHEARSAL PERIOD: November 21st – December 18th
PERFORMANCE PERIOD: December 19th 2022 – January 15th 2023
PAYMENT: Internship fee

Requirements:

For ‘Wenen*New York*Parijs’ we are looking for dancers BASED IN THE NETHERLANDS/HAVE ACCOMODATION IN THE NETHERLANDS as part of their INTERNSHIP.

We seek dancers that:
– have strong ballet and contemporary dance technique
– possess of great musicality and adaptability to dancing with a live orchestra
– have experience in partnering
– are fast in learning new material in the short rehearsal period
