The Nationale Operette is looking for dancers for an internship with DansBlok
The Nationale Operette is an operette company that works both for a young and an adult audience. We have a great interest in movement/dance next to and together with music and have worked with dancers from different backgrounds several times. For the 2020/2021 winter production ‘Wenen*New York*Parijs’ De Nationale Operette will
collaborate with dance collective DansBlok.
DansBlok is a young contemporary dance collective based in Leiden. We create our work as a team as well as individually performing all over the country. Besides that we are a platform for professional dance in Leiden. We organize professional dance training, make dance films, create talent development projects and organize dance festivals at iconic locations in Leiden.
Dancer and choreographer Tessa Wouters from the artistic team of DansBlok will work on the choreography. The choreography will be created on several pieces with a total of about
30 min. The classical waltzes are a reoccurring theme that will be given a modern twist through the choreography.
For ‘Wenen*New York*Parijs’ we are looking for dancers that want to collaborate in this project as part of their internship. We seek dancers that:
– have strong ballet and contemporary dance technique
– possess great musicality and adaptability to dancing with a live orchestra
– embody a natural soft and lyrical movement quality to match the classical waltzes
– are fast in learning new material in the short rehearsal period
The tour will consist of 8 performances across the Netherlands beginning January 2021.
Rehearsals will take place in 11 days end of December.
REHEARSAL PERIOD: December 14 th – 31 st
PERFORMANCES: 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 17 January
AUDITION: October 3 rd , 10:00-13:00, Leiden
