Unplugged Dance Workshops • Marina Tsartsara & Anna Konjetzky & Sahra Huby

In Context, in Resonance, in Play with Anna Konjetzky & Sahra Huby | Somatic Art® Practice: Roots with Marina Tsartsara

These two Unplugged Dance workshops invite us to consider ourselves as part of a broader ecosystem, where we are interdependent with other humans and species.
Discover the unique approach of experiential anatomy through Body-Mind Centering® and Somatic Art® and explore the endless ways we interconnect with each other through playful scores. An invitation to revisit ‘you’ through unfamiliar pathways and in the company of others.

⫸ Marina Tsartsara is a Dance and Visual Artist & educator (MSc), a Body-Mind Centering® Teacher in the official Body-Mind Centering® trainings in the UK, Spain & Greece. She is also the Administrative Director of the Greek BMC® program ISTOS.

During this week we will delve into an in depth research of the Somatic Art® Practice methodology on the subject of Roots. The methodology interlaces Somatic, Performance and Visual Art methods deepening into the contents of each workshop through weaving and layering. Our daily explorations will include;

• Experiential Anatomy (Body-Mind Centering®)

• Experiential Embryology

• Somatic Movement

• Relational Mindfulness

• Performance methods

• Fine & Visual Arts (drawing, photography & video)

• Improvisation

• Creative writing

⫸ Anna Konjetzky and Sahra Huby are dance artists, choreographers, facilitators, researchers and performers, based in Munich, Germany and Athens, Greece.

In Context, in Resonance, in Play workshop proposes to reflect together, to play together, and to gather tools on how to shape, transform, shift, affect, and further develop what we are doing in different directions.

We will practice and explore those tools together in relation to two main topics:
The questions of Entanglement and Interdependency of our bodies: considering humans within a wider Ecosystem, interdependent with other humans and species. Where does the border of the body lie? How can we expand or even erase this border? How do other bodies influence their surroundings simply by sharing the same space?

The question of “who are the bodies we are looking at?”: each body has a distinct identity shaped by education, culture, and history. We want to explore the complexity of where and who we are, where we look from, what lies behind our patterns, and play with these patterns to deconstruct some and find new ones.
