ZEROPLUS MOVEMENT-BASED PERFORMING ARTS EDUCATION PROGRAM, 2024-25

ZeroPlus Performing Arts Education Program is a 9-months long, movement-based education program, where performing arts are viewed in the broadest sense, covering choreography, theater practices, performance art, trans- and interdisciplinary works. We approach these versatile practices from movement because we believe that the body is a valuable reference point, whatever we choose to focus on as a performer and creator.

When
9 September, 2024 – 15 June, 2025 (altogether min. 33 weeks). There will be a break in the fall, around Christmas /New Year, and two more in the second semester.

Our program lets you explore and experiment with the body in performance. The program goes beyond technical training as it equally emphasizes somatic approaches, movement research, improvisation and composition.

According to the actual technical level & the aims of the Applicant, ZeroPlus Performing Arts Education Programs provide 2 TYPES of EDUCATION PROGRAMS:

MAIN PROGRAM
– weekly 21 hours of training, total min. 705 hours
– 9:15–15:00 from Monday to Thursday (3 classes or 2 classes and an intensive workshop including a lunch break)
– 9.15-12.30 on Friday (2 classes)
– 3 FOCUSES*
* technical knowledge (ballet; contemporary; contact improvisation; Limón technique; Graham technique; Floor barre; Afro)
* somatic approaches (classes based on experiential anatomy, Body-Mind Centering, Feldenkrais method, Laban Movement Analysis; Skinner Release Technique; Pilates; Yoga)
* creation (improvisation techniques, movement research, repertoire, dance composition)
– studio time in the afternoon for your own projects and rehearsals
– OPTIONAL: demonstrations to showcase your work in the studio
– OPPORTUNITIES for our most dedicated students to perform in art galleries, public spaces, site-specific places, or in a theater
– CLOSING PERFORMANCE in Jurányi House at the end of the academic year
– certificate of completion. ATTENTION! We do NOT issue a state-recognized diploma, but a certificate of the accomplishment of the training program, with a list of the completed courses, performances, etc.

BASIC PROGRAM
– For those who are just starting to learn the art of movement, we offer technical foundation classes (contemporary dance, ballet, contact improvisation) twice a week on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 18:00 to 21:00 (weekly 6 hours of training, total min. 198 hours)
– STUDIO TIME in the afternoon for your own projects and rehearsals
– OPTIONAL: demonstrations to showcase your work in the studio
– OPPORTUNITIES for our most dedicated students to perform in art galleries, public spaces, site-specific places, or in a theater
– CLOSING PERFORMANCE in Jurányi House at the end of the academic year, for our most dedicated students

The program is for everyone who is interested in movement practice and performance. Our aim is to offer you a safe place where you can explore your individuality, broaden your horizons and develop your artistic voice. Our program brings together people from diverse backgrounds, thus giving the opportunity to find connections between various disciplines and ways of thinking.

PROGRAM FEES
– Registration: 150 EUR (only has to be paid if you are admitted to the program, and in this case it will be deducted from your fee)
– Main program: 3 800 EUR
– Basic program: 1 300 EUR

5% of your program fee if you apply by May 31, 2024
