Frog in Hand is seeking motivated, unique and skilled dance artists to join our inaugural summer apprentice program. We are forming a company of eight dancers to create new work, take class, remount repertoire and perform across Mississauga and Toronto from May 28th-July, 2018. Dancers selected for this experience will be skilled collaborators with an interest in pursing a professional practise in the arts.

Eligibility Criteria
Due to the nature of our funding, we can ONLY hire:
1. Dancers between 15-30 years of age at the start of employment (May 2018)
2. Dancers registered as a full-time students during the preceding academic year
3. Dancers who intend to return to school full-time during the next academic year
4. Dancers training at secondary, post-secondary, vocational or technical schools
5. Canadian Citizens, permanent residents, or persons with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Foreign students are not eligible.
6. Legally entitled to work
If you do not meet the above requirements, you can still audition future positions. However we cannot hire you for this project. You must meet all eligibility requirements to be considered.
Roles
There are two roles we are seeking to fill:
Dancer
Frog in Hand is seeking five artists to join us as company members in a dancer role. These dancers will be supervised by Frog in Hand’s company rehearsal director Rohan Dhupar, under the direction of Frog in Hand Artistic Director Colleen Snell.
Dancer and Marketing/Communications Intern
We are seeking one dance artist interested in performing, dancing and taking on additional responsibilities in marketing and communications.
Location
Rehearsals will take place in Mississauga and Toronto from late May to mid-July, 2018. Additional performance opportunities after July to be confirmed.
Remuneration
All dance artists will be paid Ontario’s minimum wage of $14/hour, for 30 hours of work per week for a total of 8 weeks. MERCs (Mandatory Employment Related Costs) will be provided. MERCs include expenses such as employment insurance, Canada Pension Plan, vacation pay, workers’ compensation etc.
