Gecko has an Opportunity for a BAME Performer to Join the Company as Ensemble Performers

Gecko is approaching an incredibly exciting time with multiple shows currently touring, a host of outreach and participatory projects and with development of the company’s eighth touring production happening over the next two years. As such, we’re looking to meet exemplary male and female BAME performers who fit the following criteria:

An emotionally expressive performer with extensive experience of devising, performing and touring.
Dance trained (degree level or equivalent) or have been working as a professional dancer for a minimum of 3 years.
Speak more than one language (please give us details of which languages in your application).

At the heart of Gecko’s work is the ongoing ambition to ensure we are diverse and inclusive in all we do, be that on stage or in our education and outreach work.

Our international ensemble tell stories on stage through dance and movement and by using multiple languages; our shows are performed all over the world to audiences from all backgrounds and walks of life. As such we want to represent this diversity effectively on stage.

When: We will be inviting successful applicants to take part in a workshop day with the company as part of the audition process. These will take place between Monday 25th – Wednesday 27th June and applicants must be available for one of these dates. Please indicate your availability as part of your application.

Deadline for Applications: Wednesday 20th June. However, we will be looking at applications on a rolling basis so please do submit your application as soon as possible.
