Rendez-vous is Looking for Dance Artists – Spring/Summer Tour 2024

Rendez-vous is looking for 2 women/trans/non binary identifying dance artists to join the cast of The Monocle. Recipient of the Made In The North East commission for its creation in 2022, Mathieu Geffré’s The Monocle tells the story of the secretly notorious lesbian Parisian club which existed in the 1930’s.

Gathering a cast of 6 dancers and a singer, The Monocle will tour 12 venues across England throughout the Spring/Summer 2024 season. The tour will be preceded by a three-week period of restaging and community engagement activity in Newcastle and Northumberland in January/February 2024.

Mathieu’s choreographic style requires performers to demonstrate a high level of physicality as well as a collaborative, playful and sensitive awareness throughout the rehearsal and touring process. Performers must be comfortable with theatricality, improvisation and partnering work.

Sadly, we are unable to consider applications from performers who do not hold the right to work in the UK at this time.
