The Turku based Contemporary Dance Group Aurinkobaletti is Looking for 2 Dancers
The Turku based contemporary dance group Aurinkobaletti is looking for two dancers to join the company as substitutes for study leave. The first employment is from 1 March 2020 to 31 December 2021. The second employment is from 1 March 2020 to 28 of February 2021.
The primary choreographer for the Aurinkobaletti (founded in 1981) is the Artistic Director Urmas Poolamets. The group has been visited by several international choreographers from Carolyn Carlson to Sasha Pepeljajev, and Finnish top names such as Marjo Kuusela, Arja Raatikainen and Jorma Uotinen.
Aurinkobaletti’s home stage is located in Manilla factory quarters by the river Aura, and the company tours both home and abroad. The company has about 100 performances yearly. Currently Aurinkobaletti has five permanent dancers, and occasionally additional dancers for certain productions.
Versatility, mastering of contemporary technique and stage experience are expected from the Aurinkobaletti dancers. Ballet technique is also preferred.
Audition: After receiving the applications some of the applicants will be invited to attend an audition on Sunday, 9 February 2020. The audition starts at 11:00 at Manilla, Itäinen Rantakatu 64, 20810 Turku, Finland.
