Audition Notice – Dancer Casting – Àddina (Cie Amala Dianor)
Amala Dianor company is recruiting dancers for the international production Àddina, choreographed by Amala Dianor.
Presentation
Àddina is a production jointly supported by MC2: Maison de la Culture de Grenoble – Scène nationale and Compagnie Amala Dianor. It premieres in France in September 2027.
Àddina (“the world” in Wolof) brings together dancers from Asia and South America, and from their diasporas, for a danced celebration of differences, blending urban, contemporary and traditional dance. Choreographed by Amala Dianor, the piece makes the fusion of cultures a political joy and turns hip-hop into a spirit: peace through movement, unity through vibration. Compagnie Amala Dianor now has 21 pieces in its repertoire and performs an average of 80 times a year in France and around the world, with the support of prestigious institutions.

Requirements:
Profiles sought
• Professional dancers of all genders, of Asian descent (candidates born in Asia or belonging to the Asian diaspora).
• This criterion reflects the artistic approach of the project, which is based on bringing together performers whose family roots and dance practices are grounded in Asian cultures. Applicants state in their application email their connection to Asia (country, family history, dance practices); no supporting documents are required.
Essential skills
• Excellent technique and very good physical condition
• Solid training in classical and/or contemporary dance and in urban dance styles
• Experience or practice of traditional dances or dances rooted in a cultural heritage
• Strong musicality
• Great ability to adapt to group work
• Strong interest in exploring movement, improvisation and experimentation

Recruitment process
• Video pre-selection: applicants send a video of 2 minutes maximum, together with a CV and a recent photo.

Before applying, please note
• Auditions will take place in Paris on 28 and/or 29 November 2026.
• You must be available for rehearsals in France, which will take place between mid-June and September 2027, for touring from September to December 2027, and for the following 2 to 3 seasons.
