Sonia Sabri are Looking for a Diverse Cast of 3 Female and Male Professional Dancer/Actor/Musicians

Sonia Sabri are looking for a diverse cast of 3 female and male professional dancer/actor/musicians, who are highly skilled in at least 1 dance style and able to either sing or play a musical instrument to a high standard. All cast members must have strong improvisational as well as comic skills. You should be based in the Midlands or willing to base yourself there for the duration of the contract. We are looking for artists who genuinely enjoy working and ideally have experience in working with children and in children’s dance theatre. You must be skilled at leading participatory workshops with children aged 5+.

The roles we are looking for are as follows:

1)  Dancer specialising in a South Asian dance style, ideally Kathak.

2)  Dancer specialising in Hip Hop/Street/Breakin’

3)  Dancer specialising in Contemporary with Ballet technique, or a technique that is less familiar to the contemporary dance world

You must be available for the following dates:
-Photoshoot – 2nd July, at Birmingham Hippodrome
-Choreodrome – 23rd – 27th July, at The Place (phase 1)
-Choreodrome – 10th – 14th September, at The Place (phase 2). Plus further September dates TBC.
-Rehearsals – 21st January – 20th February, in Birmingham
-Premiere – 21st February – 1st March, at Birmingham Hippodrome
-Touring – March – April 2019
-Further touring is planned in Autumn 2019 and Spring 2020 seasons
